Today as I was catching up on the blogs I follow on blogspot, I came across a certain post on my friend Becky’s blog. She referenced another friend’s blog that is on this sight. So, after all of this time of not using this blog I have decided to do both. I’m sure I’m going to keep my blogspot blog as my main one, but in order to keep up with the people on this sight I decided I would re-open the chamber on my tumblr blog.
Re-opening the chamber was not easy. Since I haven’t posted in SEVERAL months I had forgotten not only my password, but also the email account that I used back when I started this blog. No, I’m not one of those people who has had the same email address since the beginning of time so it took me A WHILE to remember.
I have moved on to a new blog site. I hope to keep both of them up and running, however, I wanted to get my name out there a little more with videography and I feel like blogspot.com has more exposure!! So my url is www.kimberlywasher.blogspot.com. It’s still in the beginning stages, but hopefully soon I’ll be able to put some videos and such up!
I knew that Gary wasn’t all about Christmas before we got married and even after we got married, but now I really know. Yesterday I put all the lights on the outside of the house by myself. I decorated the tree by myself. I put the wreath on the door and the garland around the door by myself. Oh well, I still love Christmas and that’s all the matters!!!
This past weekend we broke into “THE HOLIDAYS!” We had our first Thanksgiving in Pulaski. This coming weekend we are off to Montgomery for the “crazy house” Thanksgiving, then Gary’s sister’s on T-giving Day, then back to Alabama for shopping, games, and food the day after T-giving! Man do I love to EAT!!!!!!!!!!
Monday night was my night to host the Bunco girls!! We had 16 signed up and between 3 and 4 two called and cancelled. I called my aunt to see if she wanted to play and she did. So that filled one of the spots! Then I remembered I can invite Elizabeth too. So that filled the other spot. However, one other person didn’t show up either so we still had to play with a ghost!! It was a tight squeeze in my little house, but it was fun because we were all in the same room. Gary got home before we even started playing so he got to sit in the office and hear all the madness!! The dice were rolled, the wipeout crown was passed, and the bunco dice was given. It was a fun filled food night with lots of screaming and laughter! I can’t wait until next month!!
Do you know what that means? I wasn’t sure what it meant until I went and saw the movie last night!! Oh my stars!! Dylan has nothing on this ghost! I was crying I was so scared! I do not recommend this movie if you are scared of that kind of thing, but if you enjoy being scared like I do, this is the movie for you!!
Time cannot go by fast enough this week. I know I shouldn’t be wishing my life away, but I really miss my husband! I actually have a had a good week. I have made my rounds and hung out with most of my friends, so that’s a plus. However, I miss my companion!
This just isn’t the song that we danced to at our wedding. This is a feeling, an emotion, an action, and a life. I realized on Saturday when I attended Clint and Joy’s wedding how when I heard those words at my own wedding they didn’t mean as much to me then as they do now. Every wedding I have been to since my own I have cried because I realize how meaningful the experience is. Saturday’s wedding was exceptionally hard because Gary wasn’t there to share it with me. Therefore, I was already having an emotional day since I had to take him to the airport and all.
I truly hope and pray that everyone is able to experience the love that Gary and I have for one another. He is a blessing from heaven and I thank God for him everyday!
"When you Love Someone you’ll do anything. You’ll do all the crazy things that you can’t explain. You’ll shoot the moon, put out the sun, when you love someone…"
Paid Time Off. I like the sound of that. This is the first job that I have actually gotten paid for when I take a day off. I already don’t have much to do, but then i can even sleep in and hang out with Gary all day and get paid for it!! This is the life!!
I am taking my first PTO day tomorrow because Gary is leaving for Costa Rica at 4am Saturday morning and will be gone for an entire week!!!! :(… (that’s me crying if you can’t tell). So, tomorrow we plan to spend the WHOLE day together!!! It will be fun!!!
On Saturday we had the SFT chili cook-off to raise money for Gary and Jimmy to go to Costa Rica to teach SFT. It was a good turn out!! It was a little chilli outside (no pun intended…hehe). People didn’t realize that it was going to be outside so some of them weren’t dressed for the occasion. However, we still had a good time. It was a great learning experience and next year we will have one year under our belt to work with!
Our goal was to raise $2000 for the Costa Rica trip. Even though we only raised about $1300, it all worked out because they found cheaper plane tickets. People are still giving money, so they are going to be ok.
We found out Sarah, Jimmy’s girlfriend is going and she is putting together a children’s manual to take to the orphanage there. I am really sad I didn’t know she was going, so that I could have gone too, but that’s ok. They will set the stage for next time when we all go.
Please pray they will be safe and many hearts will be touched!
Last night they had a Charity event for our work and everyone has a hangover that went. So, since my superiors are part of that group we get to leave early!! Who said a person that doesn't drink can't benefit from it??
I finally caught up with all the important things that happened over the last 9 months I didn’t post. Now I hope to stay up-to-date so I don’t have to do that again! There’s a lot to look at so don’t over use your brain and try to read it all in one sitting!!
Friday night we had my family (aunt kecia, uncle paul and kids, gmother and gdaddy, and my mom) over to grill out for my grandparents birthday’s. Some of them hadn’t seen our house so it was a good time for them to come over. We had a lot of fun!!
Saturday we went to Pulaski for Gary’s Pop Barlar’s birthday. We went to eat at Legend’s and then went back to his house for cake and ice cream
Sunday was the fish fry at Pop Washer’s! The food was WONDERFUL and the entertainment was even better. Pop used to be in a bluegrass band. He is no longer able to play, but there are still some people who get together and play. They pulled out their insturments (madolin, fiddle, guitar, bango, bass, and steal guitar). I got some video so I’ll put it on here later!!
So we are doing a surprise lunch for a girl at work who is getting married. Her fiance also works with us, so we have used him a lot during this party planning. Well, we wanted to get her a beach bag full of things they will need for their honeymoon and we were going to go during lunch one day. We all usually know what each other is doing for lunch so when we wanted Hector to distract her and eat lunch with her that day. Well, he had a conference call so this is what he told us to do:
Ninja verb. To bail on a group of friends without any warning, only to return many hours later. One may do this as a premeditated act to see another group of people, or as an unintentional byproduct of being drunkenly inconsiderate to your crew. Dude, Brian ninja-ed us last night. We were walking to the party and he bailed.
We pretty much did, but we made sure there was one person at least to stay back so she wouldn’t be all alone. It worked and she just thought we all had errands to run that day!

The only way we could take a picture with Ashley and Adam was to use the one on the back of their program since we didn't go to the reception. Gary was making me mad at first, but then we had fun with it!!
We had a July 4th party at our house (Brett planned it and I had no idea how many people were coming until that afternoon). We ate hamburgers and played games and then watched the Smyrna fireworks
Ashley Galloway and I went to a Bridal Fair with Martha and met Jonathan Campbell Photography. A married couple that has a place in their heart for military and teachers. Practically perfect since that’s what Matt and Martha are. They told us about a contest they were having where they were going to give a free photo session to a military man or woman coming home. So, Martha and I submitted their story.
Gary and Jimmy did a workshop in Illinois. Sarah and I got to stay with Marinda. Fun times!!
Gary and I went to visit Aunt Katie on our way to Brint and Shanon’s. We got to sleep in Uncle David’s parent’s camper! It was really fun! The main reason we went was to help them paint their kitchen…did we do it? No, we just talked and laughed and watched scary movies! At Brint and Shanon’s we got to see all the kids :). Barrett was Gary’s buddy and even ate some of Gary’s hot wings until he got a really hot bite and lost it. Poor baby!!
Gary went somewhere (I can’t remember where) and Steph came and spent the night with me. We watched Strangers and ate tons of junk food. It was fun, but scary!! We definetly had to watch Gilmore Girls before we could go to sleep.
I had a Premier Jewelry party at my house. It was crowded and I got almost $400 worth of free jewelry. I did my Christmas shopping!
I started a new job at Service Source. I love the atmosphere because it is all people my age. I do get a little bored (hm hm that’s why I’m updating my blog), but that’s ok because one day things will get crazy!
Gary, Dad, Brett, Kip, and I all went to St. Louis for the weekend. I was going to Kristi and Elias wedding because I was the videographer, but they went for the Cardinal’s game. Both were super fun! I just finished the video, finally, last night!!
I went to eat lunch at Steph’s house one day and Martha called me and told me to check my email. I was so confused, but I did it and found out that we won the photo contest from Jonathan Campbell Photography. Matt is supposed to come home in November, so they will be at the airport to get it all on camera! How exciting!!
I went to girl’s retreat at backwoods! I got their pretty late on Friday night, but didn’t really miss much. Shanon didn’t bring any kids with her so she was a free woman, which she loved! We stayed up late and acted like teenagers!! Those are always my favorite times!! I love my backwoods people!! I’m sad I can’t go to adult retreat or fall session :(.
Every year for Steph’s birthday they go to the Wilson County Fair. This year I got to go and we had so much fun and ate WAY too much food. I actually almost got sick on some rides. I don’t think I have ever felt that disgusting, but it was totally worth it!!
I decided that since I’m always on the go I needed to designate a weekend for Gary and me to just spend time together. It ended up being Labor Day weekend. We slept in on Saturday and then went and spent practically the rest of our gift cards. We bought a grill, some curtains and rods, and just some nick nack stuff we needed. We were going to buy a lawn mower from Lowe’s, but a lady stopped me and told me she had one that was only used 4 times for $75 dollars she was trying to sell that was the exact same one we had on our cart. We took her up on the offer!
That Monday night Erin and Mal were coming to town and we went and played Laser Tag and went to eat at Demo’s. We laughed until we cryed!! It was sooooo much fun! I miss college!!
Gary and I went to six flags with Daniel and Steph for Dell Day. We drove up on Friday night and got a hotel room and then went to six flags all day on Saturday and drove back on Sunday. It was so much fun because we hardly had to wait in line. Also, we had never been to Kentuck Kingdom, so it was fun to have all those different rides. We rode rides until we couldn’t ride anymore. Steph and I actually rode one twice without even getting off. Those are the kind of days I love!
That following Thursday was free game night for the Preds, so the four of us met up again and went to the game. It was fun and the Preds won!!!! My favorite part is still the Jumbo Tron action!!
My very first Hylake Retreat was one to remember. There weren’t very many people there, but enough to make it worthwhile. Nicole and I got to hang out a lot, which we rarely get to do outside of softball season. We canoed (actually Deborah, Al, and I raced Lee and Brett. They won :( ), we paddle boated (is that a word?), we played softball, we played field games, and we did SNL. Brandon was in charge, but he didn’t really have anything together, so I helped out and it turned out really great!! The monkey bean scene was probably the best!!
On Friday Sept. 18 our Sen. Account Man announced that we were going to work from 8-8 for the next 8 days!!!!! OH WOW!!!! I had to make sure that I got off for some important things. It wasn’t very difficult to do since I’m not a sales rep. Man was that some long days!!!
Gary turned 27 on the 27th!!!! How exciting!! We had a get together at our house that night with friends and during a game I got a text that Shanon was going to the hospital to have Kason!! She had him pretty soon after that so Gary and Kason have the same birthday!! How neat is that!! I love them both so much!!
I went down on Sunday to visit them and got to hold him sooooooo much…actually now that I think about it I think that was the Sunday before the Monday we had our last softball game. I drove down to Montgomery, AL after church Sunday morning and got there around 6. Then I didn’t leave until like 10 or maybe later. So, I got home at like 3 and then went to work and then went to that game. Yep just figured it out!! That’s why I didnt get much sleep the night before the game and I was so tired!!
I would cry at another softball game just to go down and hold Kason for 5 hours again!!
Our very last softball game was already going to be a sad game because it was our last, but the events that happend before and during the game made it even that much worse.
Joy, our regular pitcher was out of town
Nicole, our relief pitcher was out of town
Beth started pitching, but since we thought it would never come to this she never really practiced. So…
I got called to the pitchers mound.
I was having a hard time at first and walked a few girls and it didn’t help that the umpires strike zone was a centimeter big. Then I finally got in the grove and started throwing them in there.
A little history of what happend in the game before ours…there was a big fight (no fists involved for those of you who are more violent and think that a fight has to involve fists) and the umpire had to throw someone out. Therefore, he was already having a bad night.
A little history about my day. There wasn’t anything in paticular that happend to me that day, but my boss did upset and almost made me cry over something silly. So, obviously for some unknown reason I was very emotional that day. Also, I think I hadn’t gotten much sleep the night before, which could be another reason.
So, anyway, I was doing really well at pitching and something happened and got Ryan Mobbs are stirred up and him and the umpire exchanged some words (church league don’t get the wrong idea :)). Then as he was walking to get back behind the plate he said “I mean I’m already working with your pitcher here!” I tried to throw a pitch, but before I get the ball out of my hand the tears came. I held my other hand up to stop the game and walked off the field with my glove over my face. I think that if Matt would have stood there and talked to me for a minute I could have recoperated, but as he got closer he realized I was crying and said just go on in the dug-out. The umpire said “what happened?” all concerned. Rachel was catching that night and said “probably what you just said.” He was startled and hated the fact that he made me cry.
Our last resort then stepped onto the field. Our pitcher from last year that had been out the entire season because she had a baby. She was definitely rusty and she couldn’t throw a pitch to save her life. Needless to say we LOST that game REALLY bad. What stinks the most about it is we could have won. Oh well there’s always next year.
After the game the umpire came and found me and apologized! He was really nice and said he had never made a woman cry. I forgave. We’re good!
